SSJR Wins Appeal of Rejections for Application Directed to Image Transmission System

November 26, 2008 by in General

SSJR’s attorneys have successfully appealed the rejection of a patent application directed to an image transmission system. The U.S. Patent Office originally rejected the application based on a combination of U.S. and foreign prior art. SSJR appealed, forcing a withdrawal of these rejections. The Patent Office then issued new rejections, and SSJR again appealed.

The Board of Patent Appeals and Interferences agreed that the Examiner had not properly interpreted the claims, and further, that the Examiner had not established that it would have been obvious for one skilled in the art to modify the prior art lens assemblies in order to arrive at the claimed invention. Accordingly, the Board reversed the rejections.
