St. Onge IP Prevails in Chinese Trademark Opposition on Behalf of Its Client, Haldex Brake Products Corporation
November 22, 2021 by SSJR in Trademarks
Steven Simonis and Samantha Gerold of St. Onge IP prevailed in a trademark opposition proceeding on behalf of its client, Haldex Brake Products, owner of the HALDEX® trademark. The Chinese Trademark Office (CTMO) ruled in favor of Haldex Brake Products and refused the registration of Hou Xiaomei’s “HALDEX” mark on the basis of deceit pursuant to St. Onge IP’s submitted evidence showing that Xiaomei has filed hundreds of word marks in a foreign language which are copies of other parties’ brands. Xiaomei has failed to challenge the CTMO’s decision, rendering the CTMO’s decision final.
